Jazz Clinic @ Lynchburg College

Dear District 6 Band Directors,

I hope you are having a great summer. I know most of you are busy getting marching band season started. I would like to offer my help to anyone who might need assistance with a trumpet/brass clinic or sectional rehearsal. Please don’t hesitate to call or email me.

The main purpose of this message is to announce that this year we are again offering a one-day jazz clinic open to all high school jazzers on Saturday, September 13LC Jazz Clinic Flyer 2014 The clinic will run from 1pm to 6pm with a 7pm concert for parents. The clinic is free-of-charge, and students will be provided supper and a free t-shirt as a memento. I have attached a flyer you can post and/or pass out to students. More details and an online sign up form are available at http://lynchburgcollegemusic.info/jazz. I hope you will encourage your students to sign up!

We had a great time making music last year, and I am looking forward to meeting and working with your students this year! We have a great line-up of clinicians, including guitarist/bassist Brian Mesko, and pianist Butch Taylor, who was keyboardist for the Dave Matthews Band for many years.

Please call on me anytime if you have questions or if I can be of help to you and your program.

PS. Information is coming soon about the first annual Lynchburg College JazzFest, to be held Saturday, January 24! Save the date!
